Mr. Jagadish Pradhan
Mr. Jagadish Pradhan is a distinguished development professional and social activist with a lifelong dedication to social justice and sustainable development. A graduate with honors in Political Science, his journey in social work began as a volunteer in the Bangladesh refugee relief camps during 1971-72. He later played a key role in drought relief and community mobilization efforts in Kalahandi (1972-76).
Between 1977 and 1992, Mr. Pradhan worked with OXFAM–GB in various capacities across India and Nepal, contributing significantly to humanitarian and developmental initiatives. His strong advocacy for social rights has made him a pivotal figure in the campaigns for the Right to Information, Right to Work, Right to Food, and Forest Rights Acts, shaping progressive government policies and Acts.
A dedicated proponent of agrarian reform, Mr. Pradhan’s expertise was recognized through his nomination to the National Commission on Farmers—popularly known as the Swaminathan Commission—where he contributed to critical deliberations on agricultural and rural development policies.
His leadership extends to various NGO networks in Odisha, focusing on disaster management and natural resource management. As a development consultant, he has worked with prestigious international organizations like Bftw-Germany and Oxfam-Belgium, providing strategic guidance on impactful development projects.

As a Life Member of the Indian Society of Labour Economics and the Social Security Association of India, Prof. Mohapatra actively engages in scholarly discussions and policy-oriented research. As the founder of a renowned seed bank in Katapali, Bargarh, Odisha, Sudam has preserved over 1,055 varieties of paddy seeds, along with numerous varieties of vegetables, pulses, and amaranth. His seed bank includes unique strains like aromatic rice, medicinal rice, and climate-resilient crops.
With a dedication to sustainable agriculture, Sudam has conducted over 1,000 training seminars globally, empowering farmers, NGOs, and companies to adopt innovative organic farming techniques. Larence Kumar Pradhan, a highly motivated young mind serving as the Joint Secretary of Mrida Foundation of Mrida Foundation, has the expertise in Education and Livelihood Sector. In his 6 year of professional career he has worked with above 2000 nos of rural adolescent as a facilitator and master trainer for nurturing them about 21st century skills and digital litrecy. He has also worked with about 2500 nos small and marginal farmers and 50 nos of rural SHGs for strengthening them in organic based agricultural techniques and creating impact in their agricultural livelihood.
His passion for Education and Livelihood keeps him motivated and helps him keeping a healthy relationship with all the line departments and NGOs working for a change in Education and Livelihood sector.
